Agartala, 15th June 2024: The Vice-Chancellor of Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha was invited as the guest of honour to the Byatikram Education Conclave at Dhaka Club, Bangladesh.
The event was organized with TIUT aimed to foster collaboration between Indian and Bangladeshi educational institutions. During his visit, Prof. Saha visited Shaheed Minar and later paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, visited Dhaka International University and laid the groundwork for MoUs with prominent Bangladeshi institutions. He also attended a memorial meeting for the late Mou Roychowdhury, co-chairperson of TIG, with distinguished Indian press members in attendance.
Prof. Saha delivered a crucial talk on “The Future of Employment and Implications for Education” and participated in all the other panel discussions, emphasising the benefits of cross-border academic partnerships and presented TIUT’s initiatives, showcasing advancements in educational excellence and sustainable development. During his talk, Prof. Saha emphasized TIUT’s strategic location and affordable world-class education, highlighting unique programs and the international railway connection to Bangladesh. He also discussed TIG’s legacy, international collaborations, centralized placement services, and the strengthening of academic relations between Bangladesh and India.
During his visit to Bangladesh, Prof. Saha met several esteemed individuals and apprised them about TIUT and the Techno India Group (TIG). The dignitaries he met included Pankaj Nath, Member of the Bangladesh National Parliament; Md. Abdul Wadud Dara, MP and State Minister of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division; Major (Retd.) A.S.M Shamsul Arefin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Foundation for Regional Studies; Farida Yasmin, MP & President, Bangladesh National Press Club and other dignitaries.
The visit reinforced TIUT’s commitment to international cooperation in education. The university extends its gratitude to the organizers (Byatikram) and their Patron-in-chief, Dr. Saumen Bharatiya and Dhaka Club for their support and hospitality.
