Agartala, 15th July 2026: Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday inspected the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art eco-tourism and adventure park at Sachindranagar in Jirania, being developed on the lines of Kolkata’s Nicco Park.
The inspection was attended by Tourism Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Tourism Director Prashanta Badal Negi, senior departmental officials, representatives of the construction agency, local leaders, and residents.
Speaking during the visit, the Minister said the ambitious project is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed and opened to the public within the next year. He expressed confidence that the modern eco-tourism destination would emerge as a major attraction for visitors from across India and abroad.
Chowdhury said the park is expected to significantly strengthen Tripura’s tourism sector by creating new employment opportunities, promoting local economic activities, and contributing to the state’s overall economic growth. He added that the project reflects the government’s commitment to developing world-class tourism infrastructure and positioning Tripura as an emerging tourism destination in the Northeast.
Officials reviewed the pace and quality of construction during the inspection and discussed measures to ensure timely completion of the project.
