NLU Tripura conducts 6th school-connect programme at Don Bosco School, Agartala

Agartala, 30th August 2024:  NLU Tripura successfully conducted its 6th School-Connect Programme at Don Bosco School, Agartala, on August 30, 2024 with the students of Class 12. This initiative, themed “Let us work together for the children of Tripura,” is part of NLU Tripura’s ongoing efforts to empower students in the region and inspire interest in legal education.

The first session was led by Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Founding Vice-Chancellor of NLU Tripura, who emphasized the importance of fundamental duties as citizens, while highlighting the significant contributions made by lawyers to the society. He also introduced students to various legal career opportunities, encouraging them to consider law as a viable and rewarding profession.

The second session was conducted by 2nd-year B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) students, Swarnim Srivastava and Pushpank Raj, who focused on raising awareness about the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985. This session aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol consumptionamong youth. The discussion emphasized the critical role of education and community involvement in preventing addiction, particularly among teenagers who are at heightened risk.

The programme concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students actively participated and sought further clarity on the topics discussed. Merelin Darlong, Assistant Professor of English at NLU Tripura, along with Reverend Fr. Dinesh SDB, Vice Principal of Don Bosco School Agartala, and other teachers, also participated in the event, contributing to its success.
