Agartala, May 21: BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya on Sunday asserted that no force can defeat the party in the state for the next 40 years.
Bhattacharya was addressing an event at Agartala Town Hall where he claimed that the condition of the Communist party in Tripura is very poor as an internal rift has started among their leaders because of the alliance with Congress in the recently held Assembly election.
“I was given in charge as president of BJP for the 2023 election but it was not possible alone for me and so all the people joined me and for the workers of Bharatiya Majdoor Sangha, BJP came back in power again. The contest was tough as many people who have worked with us have hatched a conspiracy to defeat BJP. For the past 25 years the CPIM has looted the workers just for their own benefit and people have taught them good lessons in 2018 and in 2023 as well. The condition of the Communist party is very poor as an internal rift has started among their leaders because they had an alliance with Congress. Many Congress leaders and workers were killed during CPIM time and now they contested the election just to defeat BJP. There is no power that can defeat BJP at least for the coming 40 years because people want development”, said Rajib.
He also accused the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) of looting the drivers and workers during the long left-front regime.
“Our workers were attacked, and looted by CITU during Left Front regime. Every day workers and drivers had to give a subscription minimum of Rs 100 to syndicate, forcing workers to read ‘Daily Desher Katha. We have also our own mouthpiece but have we ever forced you, people, to read it? This is what change is and for that you people have worked. The way BJP has worked for people I had a faith in people that they will vote BJP to power again”, he said.
