No random e-Auto entry into Agartala: Traffic Police

Date:

Agartala, 18th August 2026 :   The Traffic Department on Tuesday launched a drive to regulate the entry and movement of e-autos from outside areas into Agartala city. The operation, led by Traffic DSP Pranab Das, was conducted near the North Gate area.

According to traffic officials, regular enforcement drives will be carried out against e-autos violating designated routes. Vehicles with route permits have been directed to strictly follow their assigned routes.

DSP Pranab Das said e-autos from areas such as Mohanpur and Amtali would not be allowed to enter the city indiscriminately. They may enter only for specific purposes, including carrying school or college students, patients or airport passengers, and must display a board mentioning the reason for entering the city.

The department is also monitoring the haphazard parking of e-autos, motorcycles and other vehicles on major roads, which often causes congestion and obstructs pedestrians. During Tuesday’s drive, action was taken against violators and fines were imposed.

Traffic authorities said such drives will continue regularly to prevent traffic violations and ensure smoother movement of vehicles and pedestrians across Agartala.
