Agartala, 23rd September 2024: North Tripura district’s DM Debapriya Bardhan on Monday said the the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnato Abhiyan will be implemented aimed at at improving the lives of the people in alignment with the central government’s initiatives.
Addressing a press conference at DM’s office in Dharmanagar on Monday noon, DM Bardhan said “The main objective of this scheme is to uplift the people. With a total target of 25 points, the scheme will be implemented in ADC villages with populations exceeding 500 people.”
The scheme, part of the Prime Minister’s Janjati Unnato Abhiyan, aims to integrate 37 villages under its umbrella, promoting development and inclusivity. “Our purpose is to discuss how these communities can improve themselves and integrate with the rest of society,” Bardhan added.
One of the notable features of the scheme includes the provision of homestays for tribal communities, with financial assistance ranging from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. “We are making efforts to improve villages lacking proper network connectivity by including them in this scheme,” Bardhan emphasized.
The central government is committed to addressing educational and economic backwardness among the people. “This initiative will span five years, focusing on 25 different objectives to foster development,” Bardhan explained. “The main goal is to enhance the quality of life and ensure overall development by fostering integration with the mainstream population.”
