Agartala, 9th May 2026: The NSS Unit of Women’s College, Agartala, observed the 166th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore with due reverence at Ambedkar Palli village.
The programme was presided over by College Principal Sanchita Reang, while noted social worker from Pratapgarh, Mrs. Swapna Das, attended as the chief speaker. Women’s College Teachers’ Council Secretary Tapasi Das graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
The event commenced with a soulful rendition of Anandaloke Mangalaloke by volunteer Shalmali Chakraborty. Parents, guardians, and local residents enjoyed a vibrant cultural programme presented by the students and volunteers.
In her address, Principal Reang emphasized the timeless relevance of Tagore’s philosophy, urging the audience to embrace his message of universal humanism in today’s world. She highlighted how Tagore’s vision continues to inspire humanitarian values across generations.
The entire programme was coordinated by NSS Programme Officer Rama Bhattacharya, ensuring smooth execution of the day’s events.
