Agartala, 22nd August 2026 : In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity with the flood-affected people of Assam, the NSS Unit of Subhashnagar H.S. School, Dukli, under the aegis of the Tripura State NSS Cell, organised a fund-raising campaign during the first and second weeks of August.
The initiative was undertaken to extend humanitarian support to people affected by the devastating floods in Assam. Under the guidance of the school’s AHM, Smt. Rama Dewan Mag, NSS volunteers actively participated in the campaign, sparing time after their regular school hours to collect funds with sincerity and dedication.
The campaign was conducted in three groups under the supervision of NSS Programme Officer Raju Roy. NSS volunteers from Classes XI and XII took part in the initiative. The Class XI volunteers included Asmita Das Gupta, Bhabita Sarkar, Dipa Das, Tina Das, Sneha Das, Nandita Debnath, Dina Sutradhar, Abhijit Das and Deep Basak. From Class XII, Kaushik Bhowmik, Shubham Debnath, Tania Debnath, Deep Das, Pio Das, Anjali Debnath and Riya Debnath participated in the campaign.
The funds collected will be utilised to provide relief materials and other humanitarian assistance to flood-affected people in Assam. The initiative highlighted the NSS Unit’s commitment to community service and its spirit of extending support to people during times of crisis.
The campaign received appreciation from local residents and members of the public. The volunteers expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to and encouraged the initiative, saying that the support had strengthened their resolve to continue serving society with compassion and responsibility.
