Date:

Agartala, 16th September 2026 :A Class VII student residing at the Anangamohini Girls’ Hostel in Supari Bagan was seriously injured after reportedly falling from the roof of the three-storey hostel building. The injured student, identified as Jebika Tripura, is currently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital.

On Wednesday, a delegation of NSUI Tripura, acting on the instructions of State President Amir Hossain, visited Jebika at the hospital and met her family to enquire about the accident and her medical condition.

The organisation alleged that the incident raises serious questions over the safety arrangements at the hostel and accused the authorities of negligence. NSUI demanded that the hostel authorities, State Education Department and Education Minister take immediate steps to ensure the safety of female students living in government and private hostels.

The organisation further warned that NSUI Tripura would launch a movement against the state government and hostel authorities if adequate safety measures were not ensured.
