TSU submits four-point memorandum to Tribal Welfare Director

Agartala, 16th September 2026 : Tribal Students’ Union (TSU) on Wednesday submitted a four-point memorandum to the Director of the Tribal Welfare Department, raising a range of issues concerning the education, facilities and academic prospects of tribal students.

A five-member TSU delegation, led by Central Committee President Deep Sena Debbarma and General Secretary Sujit Tripura, met the department’s Director and presented the memorandum. During the meeting, the delegation elaborated on the four demands and urged the authorities to take prompt steps to address the concerns.

According to TSU leaders, the demands focus on matters affecting the educational opportunities and facilities available to tribal students, as well as issues related to their future academic pursuits. The organisation said it has been consistently raising student-related concerns with the authorities and seeking appropriate measures to resolve them.

The TSU leaders stressed that the Tribal Welfare Department has an important role in ensuring that tribal students receive adequate educational opportunities and access to various government facilities and benefits.

They urged the department to examine the four-point demands seriously and initiate necessary action at the earliest. The delegation also expressed hope that the authorities would respond positively to the issues raised in the memorandum and take steps toward their resolution.
