NSUI state leaders meet injured students of Anandabazar Jiban Tripura HS School at GBP Hospital

Agartala, 5th July 2024:   National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) leaders promptly visited the hospital to check on the injured student and speak with her family.

A leader from the organization described the situation to reporters, “While protesting the transfer of teachers, the SMC committee and local ruling party leaders attacked several female students of Anandabazar Jiban Tripura High School. Moutushi Das, a student was seriously injured.”

In response, NSUI state committee leaders and members visited the hospital, acting on the orders of Congress President Asish Kumar Saha and MLA Sudip Roy Barman.

“Education is a basic human right. But during the BJP rule in Tripura, efforts are being made to gradually shrink the education sector,” leader remarked. He also highlighted the broader issues facing the state’s education system, stating, “Several schools in the state are slated for closure, and there is a significant shortage of teachers.”

Tripura Education Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Sahar has called for swift justice. “I appeal for the immediate punishment of those involved in this incident,” he said.
