Agartala, 28th December 2024: Tension has spread across Teliamura as several objectionable pictures and videos of young women and housewives circulate on social media. The incident has caused public outrage, particularly regarding the perceived inaction of the Teliamura police.
Reports indicate that for the past few days, these objectionable images and videos have been going viral, raising concerns among residents. Despite complaints being lodged at the Teliamura police station, no significant action was taken initially.
The controversy centers around a computer shop named Studio Supreme in Ampi Chowmuhani, the heart of Teliamura city. Locals allege that shop employee Nirmal Sutradhar has been exploiting his position to save personal and objectionable pictures from customers’ mobile phones through OTG and later using them for blackmail.
A victim’s family approached the Teliamura police station after discovering the viral pictures. However, the police’s response was slow, and no action was taken even after four to five days of filing the complaint.
Determined to catch the culprit, the victim’s family, along with some vigilant youths, conducted their own investigation. They raided Studio Supreme with a computer expert and recovered many objectionable pictures from Nirmal Sutradhar’s computer. Under pressure, Sutradhar confessed to the crime.
The police were then informed, and they arrested Nirmal Sutradhar from the scene. The incident has raised questions about the role of the Teliamura police and their handling of the case. Residents are demanding stricter action and accountability from the authorities to prevent such incidents in the future.
