Agartala, 5th March 2025:   Aiming to achieve sustainable development, a day-long special training program was held at the Manubazar Bashundhara Forest Awareness Center where Chairperson of Satchand Panchayat Samiti Prabhas Lodh, DCM Ratan Das, CDPO Manna Chowdhury and Officer of the Community Development Office Narayan Patari were present. Representatives and members of various Panchayats under the Satchand Panchayat Samiti also actively participated in the event.

The training program aimed to address critical issues for rural development and placed special emphasis on nine pivotal areas: eradicating poverty and creating better livelihood opportunities, establishing healthy villages, promoting child-friendly panchayats, ensuring adequate water supply, creating clean and green villages, developing self-sufficient infrastructure, ensuring social justice and security, fostering well-governed panchayats and encouraging women-friendly governance.

While addressing the gathering, Prabhas Lodh highlighted the importance of grassroots-level initiatives. “To build a healthy, conscious, and developed society, work must begin from the panchayat level. Training programs like these equip panchayat members with the knowledge and guidance to effectively implement development projects in their areas,” he remarked.

DCM Ratan Das stressed the need for strong leadership at the local level to drive sustainable development. “Building a progressive and self-reliant village requires prioritizing critical issues such as water supply, healthcare, child welfare, and women’s empowerment. Leadership plays a pivotal role in setting these priorities,” he stated.

DCPO Manna Chowdhury, another distinguished speaker at the event, elaborated on the measures necessary to prevent child marriage. “Raising awareness is key. Panchayat members must play an active role in educating the community and cooperating with Child Line to eradicate child marriage. Only then can we ensure the well-being of future generations,” she said passionately.

The participants of the training program, including Panchayat members, shared their thoughts and expressed optimism about its outcomes. One participant noted, “This training has provided us with valuable insights into village development. If such programs are held more frequently, it would help us address the challenges in our communities more effectively.”

The event concluded with a strong message of hope and determination. The organizers highlighted the importance of continued collaboration among Panchayat members and government authorities to implement actionable and sustainable plans. They assured attendees that similar initiatives would be organized in the future to further enhance the development of rural areas.

The training program at Manubazar Bashundhara Forest Awareness Center was hailed as a fruitful endeavor, paving the way for increased awareness and effective developmental strategies among Panchayat members. It is expected to make a lasting impact on the progress and well-being of rural society.
