Agartala: December 03. Tripura Police has arrested one person with brown sugar worth lakh rupee. Speaking with reporters, Sadar sub-divisional Police officer, Ajay Kumar Das said that police personnel of West Agartala police station acting on a tip off yesterday late night has detained a person from Battala motor stand in Agartala.
“When we searched the person we have seized a packet of brown sugar from his procession. The weight of the brown sugar is around 500 grams and market value would be around lakh rupee”, said Das.
The arrested person was identified as Balaram Roy a resident of Rajnagar area in Agartala which share international boundary with Bangladesh.
He further informed that the accused person would be produced before the court seeking police remand for further interrogation.
