One held with huge cache of cannabis at Dharmanagar

Agartala: October 20. Tripura Police has arrested one person from Bagbasa in Dharmanagar sub-division of North Tripura District while smuggling cannabis today. A red colour Maruti Suzuki car when escaped the police checking, the traffic police chased the vehicle and also informed the police at Bagbasa outpost.

The vehicle was detained in front of Bagbasa Holy Cross School with the help of traffic police and police personnel of Bagbasa Outpost police. The driver of the car fled but one Manju Kumar Debbarma was in the car and he was apprehended. He is a resident of Ramchandraghat under Khowai district. It is reported that this vehicle was carrying 77.45 kg of cannabis today. The cannabis were placed in different parts of the vehicle in various sophisticated ways. Bagbasa Outpost OC Shyama Prasad Das, Dharmanagar Traffic Police OC Pankaj Debnath and DSP Samir Roy led the operation.
