Agartala, 5th October 2026 : A ‘One-to-One Mentorship’ programme for aspiring female students was organised under Mission Sankalpa by the Sepahijala District Administration at the District Magistrate’s conference hall.
As part of the initiative, 25 women mentors, who volunteered for the programme, were paired with 25 girls who had either escaped child marriage or whose child marriages had been prevented. The programme seeks to provide the students with regular guidance, inspiration and emotional support, with focus on education, skill development, career planning, confidence building and overall well-being.
While pairing the mentors and students, practical considerations including the mentors’ residences, workplaces and areas of regular activity were taken into account to facilitate sustained communication and support. The mentors have also been advised to maintain confidentiality and refer matters requiring specialised intervention to the appropriate authorities.
Addressing the programme, Sepahijala District Magistrate Dr Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal said the initiative under Mission Sankalpa was aimed at ensuring that every girl gets the confidence, dignity and opportunities necessary to pursue her dreams and aspirations.
During the meeting, the District Administration also distributed disaster management kits among ‘Aapda Mitras’, the district’s trained disaster volunteers.
Additional District Magistrate Subhash Datta, Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate Binki Saha, along with officials from various departments, were present at the programme.
