Agartala, 16th November 2024: Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury today claimed that the ruling BJP is becoming increasingly isolated from the people and is resorting to conspiracies to create division among the populace in various parts of the state. Chaudhury highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in the northern district, particularly affecting traders due to clashes over extortion in Kadamtala market.
Chaudhury alleged, “A conspiracy is underway to destroy the peace in the entire state. For some days, plans have been in motion to incite communal riots in different parts of the state. Amidst this, a terrible situation has taken hold in Kadamtala in the northern district, creating mistrust between castes and tribes.”
He further mentioned that on November 8, a Left delegation visited the affected Kadamtala market. The delegation included former Chief Minister and CPM Politburo member Manik Sarkar, Opposition Leader Jitendra Chaudhury, CPIM leader Pabitra Kar, Manik Dey and others. “Kadamtala Bazar has turned into a disaster over a small extortion. One person was killed, and three others were injured in police firing. The administration could have handled the incident in time, but due to their indifference, many people have been harmed,” Chaudhury stated.
Chaudhury accused the BJP of isolating itself and indulging in conspiracies to create division among the people. “The ruling party BJP has become isolated. To hide this, it is indulging in a conspiracy to create division among the people in different parts of the state,” he claimed.
Today, the CPIM sent a deputation to Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, demanding financial assistance for the affected traders. The opposition leader emphasized the need for immediate action to restore peace and provide support to those impacted by the recent clashes. The situation in the northern district remains tense, with calls for the administration to take swift and effective measures to address the ongoing issues.
