Agartala, 8th September 2025 : Hundreds of outsourced employees working under Vision Plus, a partner agency of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) staged a protest march from Town Hall today submitting a deputation to the Managing Director of the Corporation. The workers, many of whom have been serving for over five years raised five key demands citing long-standing grievances over unpaid wages and lack of job security.
According to one protesting staff member, nearly 600 outsourced workers have been deployed across various roles under Vision Plus since 2020. Despite assurances from the department that salaries would be incremented annually, workers claim their pay has remained stagnant for five years, forcing them to survive on minimum wages.
“For the past six months, we haven’t received any salary. When we approached company officials, they told us the Power Department hasn’t released the pending dues,” said one employee.
The workers’ five-point charter of demands includes: regularization of employment, timely and monthly salary disbursement, implementation of EPF and ESI benefits, provision of medical leave, and access to proper safety equipment.
