Agartala: August 28. In a notable turn of events, Boxanagar, a crucial Assembly constituency under the Sepahijala District, is witnessing a significant shift in its political landscape as the upcoming by-election draws near. The opposition parties are grappling with a considerable setback, as the BJP gains momentum by attracting over 200 new members into its fold.

The Chief Minister, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, was present during this influx of supporters into the BJP ranks, further highlighting the party’s increasing influence.

Chief Minister Dr. Saha’s active and determined campaigning has played a pivotal role in reshaping the political dynamics of Boxanagar. This has led to a surge in public support for the BJP, prompting members from rival political parties to cross over and join the BJP.

A prime example of this shift was evident today, as Dr. Saha led an extensive door-to-door Padyatra across the Boxanagar Assembly Constituency. Despite adverse weather conditions in the morning, local residents exhibited remarkable enthusiasm for the event, underscoring their growing endorsement of the BJP.

During a significant courtyard meeting held at the residence of Sultan Miya, a prominent local figure from Matinagar representing Booth No. 36, an astounding development took place. A total of 180 voters spanning 26 families made the momentous decision to align themselves with the BJP. Meanwhile, in Booth No. 45, 46, and 47 of the 20 Boxanagar assembly constituencies, 36 voters hailing from 10 families chose to break away from the Congress-CPIM party. These individuals, who had remained politically loyal for an extended period, have now opted to cast their lot with the BJP, citing a shift in their ideological leanings.

This transformation in Boxanagar’s political climate underscores the potency of Chief Minister Dr. Saha’s campaign efforts. The BJP’s emergence as a formidable force in the constituency is causing ripples across the opposition, leading to the exodus of members from their ranks. As the by-election draws nearer, all eyes remain fixed on Boxanagar to observe how this dynamic political landscape will ultimately unfold.
