Agartala, December 19: A health emergency has taken place at Navodaya Vidyalaya in Udaipur as more than 25 students fell ill after consuming food at the school hostel. The alarming incident took place on Sunday night, immediately after the students had their dinner.

Reports suggest that the students began experiencing health issues shortly after consuming the hostel-provided meals. While initial information from the school administration hinted at a possible viral fever outbreak, medical professionals at Gomati District Hospital have contradicted this claim.

Contrary to the initial suspicion of viral fever, doctors at Gomati District Hospital have stated that the students’ illnesses are not attributed to a viral infection. Instead, they assert that the students fell ill due to the food they consumed.

Despite the severity of the situation, school authorities have not taken responsibility for the health crisis. Concerns have been raised by many parents who accuse the school administration of neglecting the students’ well-being. Allegations include a lack of proper medical care and an apparent reluctance to address the issue promptly.

The distressed parents are urging the school to take immediate action to ensure the well-being of the affected students. Meanwhile, the hospitalized students are undergoing medical treatment, and the community awaits a thorough investigation into the cause of the mass illness.

The incident has sparked debates on the quality of food provided in school hostels, raising questions about the overall safety and hygiene standards within educational institutions. Authorities are expected to provide a detailed report on the situation as parents and the public demand accountability and assurance of student safety.
