Paradise Chowmuhani drains still clogged despite weeks of cleaning

Date:

Agartala, 18th April 2026:   For the past 15 to 20 days, drain cleaning operations have been underway at Paradise Chowmuhani. Despite continuous efforts, sanitation workers report that the accumulated waste has not been fully removed.

Plastic, biodegradable waste, and other debris have clogged the drains over time, severely disrupting the drainage system. As a result, even light rainfall now raises the risk of waterlogging in the area.

Sanitation workers allege that the recurring problem stems from residents’ lack of awareness. Many people continue to dump garbage directly into the drains instead of using dustbins, causing them to fill up quickly.

One sanitation worker remarked, “We have been working continuously for several days, but no matter how much we clean, it will be difficult to solve this problem unless residents become more responsible.”

Authorities face mounting pressure to address the drainage issue effectively, while workers stress that public cooperation is essential to prevent the crisis from returning.
