Agartala, 5th December 2023 :  In a display of frustration and concern, parents in Baniachara Gram Panchayat protested by padlocking the Tel Kajla Baradhepa Anganwadi Kendra, highlighting the critical issue of teacher shortages persisting for the past seven months.

Parents and community members voiced their grievances, asserting that the Anganwadi Kendra, situated under the jurisdiction of Mohanbhog RD block, has been without a teacher for an extended period. Following the retirement of the previous teacher, the Kendra has not seen the appointment of a replacement, with its operations being managed solely by a Kendra Assistant.

Despite repeated notifications from locals to the Panchayat regarding the absence of a teacher, no remedial action has been taken to address the ongoing predicament. The mounting frustration among the community culminated today as guardians took the drastic step of locking the Anganwadi Kendra in a bid to draw attention to the persisting issue and prompt timely action from relevant authorities.

The parents are urging the Panchayat and concerned officials to expedite the appointment of a qualified teacher at Tel Kajla Baradhepa Anganwadi Kendra, emphasizing the critical role of early childhood education in the community’s development.
