Agartala, 21st September 2026 : Tension gripped the Joali Khamar area following a violent altercation allegedly triggered by a dispute over parking during Vishwakarma Puja celebrations.
According to local reports, on the night of September 18, relatives of a local resident, Tuton Das, arrived at his residence in a private vehicle to participate in the Puja celebrations. As there was insufficient space to park the vehicle inside the premises, the car was reportedly parked on the roadside.
Around 1 am, a dispute allegedly broke out between Tuton Das and two individuals from the same village over the parking of the vehicle. The argument reportedly escalated, following which the car, bearing registration number TR01 AC 0708, was allegedly vandalised extensively.
The incident created tension in the locality, with the disagreement reportedly turning into a heated confrontation. Tuton Das has further alleged that members of his family were assaulted during the incident.
Following the incident, a complaint was lodged against the two alleged accused at the Udaipur Radhakishorepur Women Police Station on Monday afternoon. The complaint has prompted police attention to the alleged assault and vandalism.
The incident has generated considerable discussion in the rural area, with residents expressing concern over the escalation of what began as a dispute over roadside parking. Tuton Das and his family are now awaiting further action from the police in connection with the case.
