Passing of Dibyendu Bikash Chakraborty: A guiding light in education

Date:

Agartala, 23rd June 2026:   The educational fraternity of Tripura is mourning the loss of Dibyendu Bikash Chakraborty, a revered teacher whose life and career embodied the true spirit of education. He passed away late Sunday night, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations.

Chakraborty was more than a classroom instructor; he was a mentor, philosopher, and social reformer. His teaching extended far beyond textbooks, focusing on instilling honesty, discipline, respect for elders, and social responsibility in his students. Former pupils fondly recall how “Sir” guided them through life’s challenges, always standing by them in times of need.

Throughout his career, he served at Khowai Government Higher Secondary School and later as Headmaster of Sonatala Higher Secondary School, where his simple yet engaging teaching style earned him admiration from both students and colleagues. His tireless dedication to improving the quality of education and nurturing young minds placed him in high esteem across society.

Many of his students, now in prominent positions, credit their success to the values and guidance imparted by him. His passing has created a profound void in the educational community—one that may never be filled. Yet, his ideals will continue to shine as a beacon for future teachers.

Local MLA Nirmal Biswas expressed deep sorrow, praying for the eternal peace of Chakraborty’s soul and extending heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.

The memory of Dibyendu Bikash Chakraborty will endure not only in the hearts of his students but also in the broader society he helped shape, reminding all that a teacher’s true role is to build character and inspire humanity.
