Agartala Aug 22: On her way to attend a party meeting, Patal Kanya Jamatia faced furious protests after she was blocked in the middle of the road. The incident happened in Anandabazar Subhash Nagar area. Security forces have been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.
It is known that there was a meeting of the ruling BJP in Anandabazar on Monday. On her way to attend the meeting, Janjati women blocked the road of Patal Kanya with black flags in Subhash Nagar area raising Go Back slogans.The agitators alleged about un-fulfillment of of promises adding that they no longer want to see Patal Kanya as a leader. Janjati women blocked the road and gheraoed the car raising “Go Back”slogans.
On receiving the information, paramilitary forces along with the police reached the spot and somehow managed to send Patal Kanya from the scene. According to sources, village committee election are looming and therefore the ruling BJP is already trying to use Patal Kanya as a tool to grab the hills. However, time will tell how successful it will be. Paramilitary forces including police, TSR have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
