Agartala, 18th May 2025: The Pradesh Congress office in Agartala witnessed a solemn gathering on Sunday as party leaders commemorated the 86th birth anniversary of former Tripura Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Sudhir Ranjan Majumdar.
In a brief ceremony at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan, Pradesh Congress President Asish Kumar Saha, Sadar District Congress President Tanmoy Roy and other senior party leaders paid floral tributes to Majumdar’s portrait, remembering his contributions to the state and its people.

His tenure saw initiatives such as salary hikes for state employees and employment programs for the elderly, measures that continue to be remembered fondly.
Apart from his role in state politics, Majumdar was elected to the Rajya Sabha as a member of the Indian National Congress. His dedication and integrity as a leader were highlighted during the ceremony, with speakers emphasizing his humility and commitment to public service.
“Sudhir Ranjan Majumdar was an honest, unassuming, and responsible political leader. His ideals and work will continue to inspire future generations,” speakers noted during the tribute.
