PCC set for higher vote percentage, poll was peaceful: Saha

Date:

Agartala, 12th April 2026: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Asish Kumar Sahatoday stated that this year the party would witness a rise in vote percentage in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election compared to 2021.

Speaking about the election, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Asish Kumar Saha said that in some places agents were notallowed to enter polling stations, especially in Machmara and Kanchanpur. “In some places, after the voting process, technical glitches were reported in some EVMs in parts of constituencies, which were later fixed and replaced, and thevoting process was started again. Though this is a fact, the Congress has not strengthened its organisation in the TTAADC, but the Tripura Congress and Adivasi Congress have worked, and as per reports, out of 1,257 booths, we have appointed polling agents in over 500 booths.

This is a positive sign for our organisational base,” said the PCC chief. He said that in this election, in most places, the Tipra Motha Party has used its party strength; however, so far it has been peaceful. “We can say that in this year’s vote, voter percentagewill increase,” he added.
