Agartala, 19th February 2025:   Udaipur is set to host a significant joint initiative by the Pradesh Congress and the Seva Dal on Thursday. In anticipation of this event, Lalji Desai, the chief organizer of the All India Seva Dal arrived in the state on Wednesday. Following his state visit, Desai addressed a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan in the evening, launching a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its governance.

During his address, Desai stated that the “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Sansthan” movement had gained momentum across the country following what he termed as “objectionable comments” made by the Union Home Minister about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Parliament. “This is not just an insult to Ambedkar but an attack on the values of democracy and social justice that he stood for,” he asserted.

Desai went on to strongly criticize the BJP-led government, alleging that “thieves are currently looting the country” and that governance under the ruling party had deteriorated to “hooliganism.” Referring to the situation in Manipur, he blamed the central government for its “failure to maintain law and order, resulting in prolonged unrest.”

Taking a direct dig at the BJP’s governance in Tripura, Desai alleged, “The state is being run by a gang of goons. The people are suffering, and there is rampant unemployment. The government has done nothing but suppress the opposition’s voice.” He further claimed that “media freedom is under threat” and that independent journalists were being “coerced into silence.”

Highlighting Congress’s stand against what he termed “oppression and injustice,” Desai vowed to intensify the party’s movement. “The Congress will continue its struggle for the people’s rights. We will not be silenced by intimidation. The fight for justice and democracy will go on,” he declared.
