Agartala, October 26: The Tripura Pradesh Congress has announced various programs to mark the death anniversary of late former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi on October 31. The Sadar District Congress will also organize a program to pay tribute to the leader and serve the poor.
This was stated by the state president Ashish Kumar Saha at the Sadar District Congress meeting at the Tripura Pradesh Congress Bhavan on Thursday. He said that the Sadar District Congress will organize a poor Narayan Seva, where food and clothes will be distributed to the needy people. He also said that a discussion meeting on Indira Gandhi’s philosophy of life will be held at the Congress Bhavan by Mahila Congress, the women’s wing of the party.
The state Congress president urged everyone to take initiative to make the programs a success and to remember the contributions of Indira Gandhi to the nation. He said that Indira Gandhi was a visionary leader who fought for the unity and integrity of India and defended its interests on the global stage. He said that the Congress party is committed to follow her ideals and principles.
