Agartala, November 30, 2022: Left Front state convenor Narayan Kar on Wednesday claimed that the people of Tripura have understood the politics of the BJP as the ruling party leaders have adopted the same policy of swindling them with false promises ahead of assembly election in 2023.
Speaking to media persons at CPIM state headquarters here on Wednesday afternoon, Kar said that the central leadership of BJP released their “Vision Document” before 2018 where commitments of 299 in numbers were mentioned, but so far, not a single one has been accomplished.
“The same procedure is being adopted this time also ahead of the assembly polls slated to be held early next year. But the thing is, BJP state leadership is unaware about a fact that the people of Tripura have understood the conspiracies of the ruling party and give the leaders a befitting reply by defeating them in 2023”, he added.
“A terror-like situation has been prevailing across the state due to the ruling party-backed hooligans. BLOs are visiting different houses to register new voters or delete absentees according to the instructions of ECI. In Sonamura, it is seen that the ruling party goons are not allowing the officials to visit houses. These hooligans are restricting the officials so that they can conduct vote rigging in order to pass the electoral roll”, he alleged.
Left Front convenor said “This undemocratic fascistic power has to be defeated for restoring democracy, to protect individual rights, to bring back rule of law, etc., as the state suffering from the ‘Jungle Raaj’. The ruling party understood that the masses are no longer with them at the end of five-year tenure. Failing to digest this, unethical means were adopted by the ruling party leaders for suppressing the voices of people by creating a terror-like situation.”
Kar also said that the BJP is playing sneak game with the youths. He said “The government organized ‘Rozgar Mela’ and gave offer of appointment to only 686 youths while their commitment was to provide employment to 50,000 youths every year. Among those benefited youths, many got jobs under die-in-harness scheme. As there are no factories and companies in the state, youths are dependent on the government.” In the press conference, CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury urged the ruling party and its government to submit report card based on the 299 commitments made in the “Vision Document” if they have political ethics and guts. CPIM can challenge BJP on every points raised by them.
