Agartala: April 12. Tripura CPIM state committee secretary Jitendra Chaudhury in a letter to Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has said that the democratic people of state are eagerly waiting to get rid of violence and are waiting to see the government and the police administration in particular reigns over the miscreants cutting across their political identity and prosecute them under law of the land.

The statement of Jitendra Chaudhury who is also CPIM MLA came after a Sub-Divisional Committee office was bulldozed.

The CPIM MLA have alleged that on 10th April, the day a delegation on behalf of the CPI (M) led by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar met the CM in his official residence to apprise him about the ongoing unbridle incidents of terror, intimidation, destruction of properties and the attack on livelihood of the opposition supporters, on the same night the CPI (M) Jirania Sub-Divisional Committee office situated at a Jote land (Own land) at Jirania market in West district was raided by the gangsters with bulldogger.

He also alleged that the miscreants broke open the outer grill-fence using the bulldogger to get into the office. Then they took away all the furniture and valuables from inside the office. While raiding the office, the miscreants exploded crackers indiscriminately in the area so that nobody could dare to come out to prevent them.

“While discussing with the CPI(M) delegation as well as in a programme at Bordowali yesterday, you (CM) expressed your firmness to take police action against these unruly elements. But it seems, the anti-communist terror-mongers party have thrown a challenge against your democratic gesture inside your Jirania is one of the epicenters of ferocious terror since March, 2018. Since then the CPI (M) Sub-Divisional office at Jirania bazaar was compelled to be closed barring few days prior to last Assembly election. Now it is up to you, how you would help us to reopen our Sub-Divisional office at Jirania and let the office function without being disrupted by the terror-mongers. In the other Sub-Divisions also the feature of anti-communist backlash is same as in Jirania”, said Jitendra.

He also accused four persons identified as Goutam Paul, Bijan Saha, Swapan (Ratan) Saha and Rathindra Shil for the attack on the party office.

“The peace-loving democratic people of Tripura are eagerly waiting to get rid of such unusual situation and are waiting to see the government and the police administration in particular reigns over the miscreants cutting across their political identity and prosecute them under law of the land”, the letter reads.
