Physiotherapy awareness march held in Agartala to mark World Physiotherapy Day

Agartala, 8th September 2025 :   In observance of World Physiotherapy Day, the Tripura chapter of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists, in collaboration with the Tripura Institute of Paramedical Sciences organized a citywide awareness march aimed at educating the public on the importance of physiotherapy in daily life.

The march commenced from the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here and traversed key streets across the city, drawing participation from students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals. Organizers emphasized that the initiative was designed to highlight physiotherapy’s role in enhancing mobility, managing pain, and promoting healthy ageing themes that align with this year’s global focus on “Preventing Frailty and Falls.”

Speaking at the event, a senior member from the organizing committee stated, “Physiotherapy is not just a treatment, it’s a preventive and rehabilitative approach that supports physical well-being throughout life. This march is our way of bringing that message to the people.”

The event was formally inaugurated by Sukanta Ghosh, Secretary of the Tripura Sports Council, alongside Sujit Roy, Chief Advisor of the Tripura chapter of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists. Also in attendance were the association’s president, secretary, and a large contingent of students and practitioners.
