Agartala, 31st January 2025: Eight beneficiaries from the state under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana were invited as special guests to the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi on January 26th. These individuals participated in the morning festivities at the invitation of the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy, Government of India. Additionally, Ajay Bhushan Pal, a scheme beneficiary from the state was honored with an invitation to the At Home function at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he enjoyed a dinner reception.
Notably, among the North Eastern states, only Assam, Manipur and Tripura have received such a rare honor at this prestigious event. A total of 418 Surya Ghar beneficiaries from across the country were present at the function. Sujata Sarkar, the Nodal Officer of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and DGM of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited accompanied the beneficiaries.
So far, approximately 12,000 people have registered for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the state.
