PM’s recognition of Tripura Bamboo craft a matter of pride : Rajib

Agartala, 26th April 2026 :   The 133rd episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular radio programme Mann Ki Baat was broadcast on Sunday at Booth No. 24 under the initiative of the Badharghat Mandal. The event, held at the Charipara School hall, drew a significant gathering of party workers, supporters, and local residents.

Among those present were MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Mandal president Monis Deb, along with other leaders and dignitaries. Attendees listened attentively to the Prime Minister’s address throughout the programme.

Speaking to reporters after the event, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee highlighted that this edition of Mann Ki Baat gave special emphasis to the traditional bamboo craft of Tripura and the wider Northeast. He noted that the Prime Minister mentioned the names of two artisans from the state, calling it a matter of pride and recognition for Tripura.

Bhattacharjee added that such acknowledgment would not only boost public interest in bamboo craftsmanship but also inspire artisans with renewed enthusiasm. He expressed hope that the state’s traditional bamboo industry would gain greater visibility at both national and international levels.

Organisers said the broadcast created a festive atmosphere in the locality, with participants feeling inspired by the Prime Minister’s message.
