BJP Raises Corruption Allegations in TTAADC, meets Governor demadning probe

Date:

Agartala, 26th April 2026:  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has levelled serious allegations against the Tipra Motha Party-led Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) administration, claiming widespread corruption, irregular recruitment, and financial mismanagement, and has urged the Governor to initiate an investigation.

A delegation of BJP leaders, including former MP Rebati Tripura, party general secretary Bipin Debbarma, MLA Pramod Reang, and former District Council members Bhumika Nanda Reang and Bimal Kanti Chakma, met Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Sunday in Agartala. They submitted a memorandum seeking a detailed probe into the functioning of the TTAADC administration headquartered at Khumulwng.

In their complaint, the BJP leaders alleged that the council has been involved in “large-scale corruption,” misuse of public funds, and irregular handling of project-related money during its tenure. They further claimed that financial discipline within the council had deteriorated significantly over the years due to non-compliance with mandatory audit procedures.

The memorandum also raised concerns over recruitment practices, alleging that several Group-C and Group-D posts were filled hastily and secretly during the election period without proper procedures or public notification. According to the BJP, these appointments violated established norms and raised suspicions of monetary exchange in job allocations.

The party also pointed out that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India had reportedly flagged concerns regarding audit compliance, urging corrective action from the state government.

Calling for accountability, the BJP delegation requested the Governor to order an independent inquiry into the allegations to determine the facts and ensure corrective measures for the welfare of residents in the TTAADC areas.
