Police and BSF Recover 14 Cattle in Joint Operation, One Suspect Arrested

Agartala, 5th  February 2026 :  Based on a tip-off, police and the Border Security Force (BSF) conducted a joint operation and recovered 14 cattle from two vehicles. The drivers of the vehicles were also pursued during the operation.

According to police, they received information that cattle were being illegally transported from the Bhagabantila BOP area under Natun Bazar Police Station. Acting on the tip-off, police and BSF stopped two vehicles in the area. Upon inspection, a total of 14 cattle were recovered from the vehicles.

One of the drivers, identified as Zakir Hossain, was arrested, while the driver of the other vehicle managed to flee. The arrested individual is currently being interrogated. The recovered cattle have been secured in a safe location, police said. Legal proceedings are ongoing in connection with the incident.
