Police arrests BJP ‘Shakti Kendra’ coordinator for raping minor girl at Khowai

Agartala, 5th August 2024:   Tripura police arrested a ‘Shakti Kendra’ coordinator of the BJP party on the charge of allegedly raping a nine-year-old minor girl at Banbazar ADC Village area under Champahaour police station in Khowai district on Monday.

The police informed that Dhirendra Namashudra, a resident of Mohant Basti area, Banbazar ADC Village in Champahaour police station was arrested on the charge of raping a nine-year-old minor girl of the area. On the way, Dhirendra Namashudra, coordinator of Shakti Kendra of the BJP party in the area lured the minor girl to his house and raped the girl and threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone about this incident.

After that, the girl went home crying in fear, seeing the girl crying, her parents asked what happened, the girl revealed the whole incident and finally brought the girl to the hospital for treatment.

On August 02, the parents of the minor girl filed a complaint in written form against Dhirendra Namashudra with Champahaour police station case number 11/2024 under sections are 65(2)BNS AND 4 of POSCO Act.

After that incident, Dhirendra escaped and finally, based on a secret source, the police of Champahaour police station staff arrested Dhirendra from Banbazar’s Chamabasti area on Monday afternoon and brought him to court. The court sent Dhirendra to 14 days jail.
