Agartala, 3rd March 2024: Tripura Police on Sunday recovered the decomposed body of a 54-year-old man from his house on Shiv Nagar College Tilla road in Agartala. According to the Sadar SDPO, the deceased has been identified as Sudip Sur Chowdhury (54), and it is suspected that the body may have been there for 6 days. “
We received information that a mother and son live in a house near Shiv Nagar College road. However, for several days, neighbors and other family members didn’t have any contact with them. Today, when an aunt of the son came to visit their home, she noticed a foul smell and immediately informed locals along with the Tripura Police. We rushed to the spot with a dog squad and a forensic team. Upon arrival, we discovered the half-decomposed body of the son, identified as Sudip Sur Chowdhury (54), and we have sent his mother, Kalyani Sur Chowdhury (84), to the hospital. She is alive. We suspect that the body has been there for around 6 days. An investigation is underway,” said the SDPO.
