Police seize 110 bottles of illegal liquor in raid, one arrested

Agartala, 23rd April 2025: East Agartala police achieved a breakthrough in their ongoing crackdown on illegal liquor sales seizing 110 bottles of illicit alcohol during a raid on a house in the Madhya Dukli area. The operation was carried out based on complaints of illegal sales, led to the arrest of the homeowner identified as Sukumar Pal.

According to East Agartala Police Station OC Rana Chatterjee, the market value of the confiscated liquor is estimated to be around Rs 70,000. “We had received multiple complaints alleging that Sukumar Pal was involved in illegal liquor trade. Acting on this information, our team conducted the raid and successfully recovered a significant quantity of contraband liquor,” Chatterjee told reporters.

Authorities have confirmed that legal proceedings against the accused are underway as part of the broader effort to curb illicit alcohol sales in the area.
