Agartala, 1st April 2026:  Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Monday sharpened the BJP’s election pitch ahead of the April 12 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) polls, declaring that voters are ready to reject politics based on intimidation and communal rhetoric in favour of development-driven governance.

Launching the party’s campaign vehicle from the BJP state office, Dr. Saha said the initiative marks an aggressive outreach effort to consolidate support across tribal areas. The vehicle will travel throughout the TTAADC region, highlighting the BJP-led government’s work and directly appealing to Janajati voters ahead of polling day.

Framing the election as a contest between “development and disruption,” the Chief Minister claimed the BJP is gaining ground rapidly, with leaders and supporters from rival outfits, including Tipra Motha, shifting allegiance. He said this trend reflects growing public confidence in the BJP’s governance model.

Taking aim at previous administrations, Dr. Saha accused both CPIM and Tipra Motha of failing to deliver tangible progress during their tenures in the council. In contrast, he positioned the BJP as the only party capable of ensuring sustained development, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on tribal welfare as a key driver of change in the region.

He also signaled that corruption and governance failures in the TTAADC would be central issues in the BJP’s campaign, promising to expose alleged irregularities before voters. According to him, the electorate is no longer swayed by rhetoric and is instead prioritizing performance and accountability.

Addressing recent tensions, Dr. Saha linked incidents of violence to political desperation ahead of the polls, asserting that such tactics would not influence voters. He assured that law enforcement agencies are taking necessary action and emphasized that peace and stability remain key electoral concerns.

Dismissing opposition claims over land issues, he reiterated that the government is acting strictly within legal frameworks and accused rivals of spreading misinformation to create confusion among voters.

With BJP leaders and workers intensifying their campaign across the council areas, Dr. Saha expressed confidence that the party will secure a decisive mandate in the TTAADC elections, positioning it as a crucial step toward expanding BJP’s political footprint in Tripura’s tribal regions.
