Power minister inspects Call Centre of TSECL

Agartala: May 16. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath today paid a surprise visit to Call Centre of TSECL at Vidyut Bhawan.He visited the call center and inspected the work. During his inspection he spoke with the staffs of Call Centre.

After the inspection, Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the inspection is to see how consumers and workers complain about electricity services online, how they take action and how long it takes to resolve them. “40 staffs are working 24 hours in three shifts to hear complaints at number 1912. But during storm, rain, 1000 calls come at the same time. That’s why the phone is in standby mode”, said Nath.

The minister asked the consumers to try again and again for that. “Service is being restored quickly unless there is a major problem. On an average of 200 calls are coming every day”, said Nath.The minister also said that the connection is sometimes deliberately cut due to heavy storms and rains to prevent any untoward incident.

“In the last 15 days, 3597 complaint calls have been received. All problems are solved” said Nath.He said that importance is being given to resolve complaints quickly. TSECL MD Debashish Sarkar along with other officials were with the minister that day.
