Agartala, 7th July 2026: Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul on Tuesday said that a series of Prabhat Pheris (morning processions) and public outreach programmes, organised to observe the fortnight-long Balidan Diwas of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, are progressing successfully across the state.
Participating in a Prabhat Pheri at Suryamani Nagar Gram Panchayat under the 18-Suryamani Nagar Assembly constituency, Paul joined local residents, party workers and well-wishers in paying tribute to the national leader.
Addressing the gathering, Paul said the initiative aims to take the ideals of Dr. Mukherjee, his self-sacrifice, patriotism, nationalism and vision of an undivided India, to the grassroots level. He noted that such programmes help strengthen awareness about the leader’s contributions and inspire people to uphold national values.
“The enthusiastic response and spontaneous participation of the people have further encouraged us. This reflects that Dr. Mukherjee’s ideals remain relevant and continue to inspire society,” Paul said.
He added that the observance, which began on June 23, will continue till July 10. Reaffirming commitment to public service, Paul said the programmes are also intended to promote national unity, social responsibility and dedication towards the nation.
