Agartala, 7th July 2026: Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury on Tuesday visited the residence of Manashree at Badharghat to enquire about her health and express solidarity with her family. During the visit, he assured the family of all possible personal support for her treatment and expressed hope for her speedy recovery.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Manashree’s family, Chaudhury said that the young woman is currently unwell and has been advised by doctors to remain in isolation. As a result, he was unable to meet her directly but held discussions with her mother and other family members regarding her condition.
“I have spoken with her mother and other family members, assuring them of the support we—both personally and otherwise—can provide for her treatment. I have pledged that we will offer whatever personal assistance lies within our power,” Chaudhury said.
Expressing optimism about her recovery, the Leader of Opposition said he believes that with the cooperation and goodwill of the people of Tripura, Manashree will overcome her illness. “We firmly believe that, with the cooperation of all the people of Tripura, Manashree will quickly recover. I hope she goes on to lead a beautiful, long life,” he added.
Chaudhury also noted the overwhelming response from the public, saying that during his visit he witnessed people from different sections of society coming forward to support the family in their difficult time.
“I have seen countless people from various walks of life arriving, many of whom are extending a helping hand. While I do not know the exact cost involved or the specific treatment details—those are matters best explained by the doctors or the hospital—I am hopeful that, with our collective support, the expenses for Manashree’s treatment will not pose a problem,” he said.
