Agartala, 16th June 2025: A one-day Safety Training on First Aid for contractual workers was successfully conducted today through the joint initiative of the Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch and the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (TLM Office), Agartala. The primary objective of the workshop was to raise awareness about first aid among contractual workers and to equip them with the skills required to respond effectively in emergency situations.
The training workshop was inaugurated by Nabanita Das, Assistant Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. In her inaugural address, she emphasized, “Knowing the job is important, but ensuring safety at the workplace is equally crucial. A sound knowledge of first aid can often make the difference in managing emergencies swiftly and efficiently.”
From the Indian Red Cross Society, the session was led by Faculty Member Rajesh Saha with assistance from First Aid Trainer Mridul Kanti Roy and Office Assistant Titan Saha.
A total of 25 contractual workers participated in the training. They received hands-on instruction on vital first aid techniques such as CPR, treatment for burns, controlling bleeding, managing fractures and responding to cases of unconsciousness—essential life-saving skills applicable in real-life emergencies.
The workshop was well-received by the participants, who expressed that the training had boosted their confidence and would be immensely beneficial in their day-to-day professional and personal lives.
Authorities from both the Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. have affirmed that similar joint initiatives will continue to be organized regularly in the future.
