Agartala, March 28: TIPRA Motha leader Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has shifted his stance from advocating for ‘Greater Tipraland’ to demanding a single vote. The revelation came during a press conference held by the Statehood Demand leader, Aghore Debbarma, at his office in Krishnanagar on Thursday.

Debbarma accused Pradyot Kishore Debbarman of deceiving the people. He asserted that the initial demand for ‘Greater Tipraland’ was merely a ploy to attract public support. Now, with the election season underway, Pradyot’s focus has shifted, leaving many questioning his true intentions.

The scrutiny of the West Tripura seat took place on Thursday, with the nomination papers of Statehood Demand Party’s West Tripura seat nominee R Riang being accepted. Meanwhile, nomination papers for the East Tripura constituency are scheduled to be issued on March 30, with Krishnamohan Jamatia nominated as the candidate.

Debbarma also emphasized the need for a fair electoral process and called upon the Election Commission to ensure transparency and integrity in the upcoming elections. The sudden shift in Pradyot Kishore Debbarman’s stance has sparked controversy and raised questions about the political landscape in Tripura.
