Agartala, 26th April 2026 : Tipra Motha Party founder and MDC Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma today urged for a new approach in Tripura’s political and social landscape, emphasizing grassroots empowerment and youth participation.
Speaking in a Facebook live, Debbarma highlighted two key ideas. First, he proposed that zonal and sub-zonal chairmen should be selected from among those who win Village Committee (VC) elections, ensuring that leadership emerges from individuals directly chosen by the people rather than through recommendations. He noted that the VC elections are expected to take place in June following the Supreme Court’s verdict.
Second, Debbarma stressed the need to form a youth-driven team within the next 8–10 days to engage with communities across Tripura. He suggested that members could come from organizations such as the Tripura Students’ Federation (TSF), Borok Students’ Movement (BSM), and Chakma Youth Society, among others. This team, he said, should travel to every district to raise awareness and take responsibility for change.
Debbarma assured logistical and financial support for these youth initiatives, underlining that transformation in Tripura would not come solely through politics but through the active involvement of the people. “The transformation will not happen in politics, you people will do it,” he remarked, adding that he would soon meet youth leaders to discuss the way forward.
His message reflects a broader vision of inclusive leadership, grassroots accountability, and youth empowerment, positioning the Tipra Motha Party’s agenda around community-driven change.
