Agartala, 25th November 2025:    Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Tuesday said that a united voice from the Northeast will compel the Government of India to address the long-standing issues of the region, which he said has suffered discrimination for decades.

Pradyot announced that the party’s postponed mass rally will finally be held on 27 November at 10 AM at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala.“The rally was earlier planned for the 7th, then shifted to the 15th—both dates were denied permission. Now we have approval for the 27th, and the ground will be handed over to us tomorrow night,” he said, expressing concern over the repeated delays despite Tipra Motha being in alliance. “CPIM and Congress got permission without any hassle, while ours kept getting held up,” he added.

The “One North East Rally” will see participation from several prominent regional leaders. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is set to attend, along with former Nagaland Minister and ex-BJP national spokesperson Mmhonlumo Kikon. Leaders from Manipur—including Premachandra Singh and RK Meghen—as well as Gorkhaland’s Ajay Edwards, Daniel Langthasa from Dima Hasao, and representatives of the Tai Ahom group from Assam are also expected.

Pradyot alleged that attempts are being made to obstruct the event.  “People are being pressured not to provide vehicles to our supporters. They believe this will weaken the Tiprasa. But we will not bend. This is 2025—our community may not be wealthy, but we are brave,” he said.Calling for solidarity across the region, he emphasised, “This rally is about unity. Northeast states face the same challenges, the same neglect. When we speak together, Delhi cannot ignore us. That is why we are coming together on one platform.”Pradyot urged participants to maintain peace.

“I request everyone to attend peacefully and return home peacefully,” he said.
