Pradyot signals of forming platform with NE regional parties

Agartala, 31st October 2025:  Tipra Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Friday signaled the possibility of a common platform for all regional parties in the North East, saying a formal announcement is likely within the next three days.

In a message shared on social media, Pradyot emphasized that national security must take precedence over political differences, particularly in light of the upcoming elections in Bangladesh, where he warned that an anti-India government could emerge.

“The Centre will take us seriously only when we stop fighting among ourselves and unite under one voice for the people of the North East,” Pradyot said. “If we stay divided, none of our states will benefit. But if we stand together, we can solve at least half of our problems. Within the next three days, we will make an important announcement,” he added.

Pradyot also expressed concern over reports of fake Bangladeshi ID cards allegedly linked to some leaders in Tripura, calling it a conspiracy that could serve the interests of Bangladesh.

Highlighting growing security concerns, he claimed that Pakistani Brigadiers and Generals have been stationed in Bangladesh’s Chittagong Hill Tracts under the guise of medical aid. “Doctors, not Generals, come for medical help. I fear that after the Bangladesh elections, an anti-India regime may rise to power. Their main targets won’t be Mumbai or Delhi, but the North Eastern states — especially Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura — where they could try to spread terror and communal discord,” he warned.

Underscoring the importance of unity, Pradyot said, “This is not about CPIM, BJP, or Tipra Motha — this is about protecting our people. Hatred is being spread on social media to divide us. A larger geopolitical game is unfolding, as seen in the political upheavals in Nepal and Bangladesh. The North East must stay alert. Our fight is against the forces spreading hatred from across the border. National security comes before politics. Bangladesh is not India’s friend.”
