Agartala, 20th June 2023: In an oblique reference to ruling BJP, Tipra Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Tuesday said that he will ‘encounter’ to people who will be found in playing with the future, rights and emotions of indigenous people of Tripura.
While speaking with media, Pradyot has claimed that a section of people are trying to use money power just to dilute the thansa and to divert the attention of the people from their rights.
“I wanted to meet the secretary of Village Council to aware him about the present scenario of villages in the state. Nobody can win anyone by money. But now a section of people are trying to use money power just to dilute the thansa and to divert the attention of the people from their rights. And I want to tell them that they have seen our peace and tranquility in the state but if they play with our emotion, future, rights a then Tipra, Tiprasa and me in every villages, in every roads will encounter them. This fight is for our rights, lands, language and is not a fight of political fight”, said Pradyot.
He claimed that a section of people send their children to English medium school but they don’t want indigenous people to write in Kokborok using roman script.
“I want to challenge them that the Ministers, MLAs of BJP whose children are studying in English medium school, don’t want that our children to study in English medium school and to write in Kokborok using roman script”, he said.
Pradyot also accused the ruling party to suppress the tribal people and to break the unity by not conducting village council elections.
“BJP state president in front of IPFT leaders said that Tipraland is not possible, ever they had courage to tell the same in front of NC Debbarma? No never. They have said this because we have shown them our weakness. They have promised of so many things but they are not fulfilling their demands saying regional parties can’t do anything. If we got tipraland then only Jishu Kaka (Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma ) become the Chief Minister, and Bidyut Debbarma would be the minister and tribal would get something. Tribals are now second class in the state. I am fighting for everyone. I will fight alone for my community. I am not scared of anyone. Till today you have seen my good side, you people have betrayed us and would give reply to it soon”
