Pranajit plans booth-level public interactions after ULB elections in November

Date:

Agartala,  12th  October 2026 :  Finance Minister & MLA of Radha Kishore Pur assembly constituency Pranajit Singha Roy on Monday announced plans to strengthen grassroots-level public outreach after the upcoming November elections, stating that he will visit every polling booth in his constituency to interact directly with people and address their grievances.

The minister said he has been regularly organising public interaction sessions, particularly on Sundays and holidays, despite his official responsibilities. He maintained that meeting people and helping them resolve their problems remains an important part of his duties as an elected representative.

“Every family faces certain problems, and as a public representative, it is my responsibility to help resolve them. People approach me when they cannot solve their problems through their own efforts or with the help of local leadership,” Singha Roy said.

Highlighting healthcare as one of the major concerns raised during these interactions, he referred to the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the state government’s Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He said the state government, under Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, extended health coverage to people previously excluded from Ayushman Bharat through the state-funded scheme from February 16, 2023.

“People sometimes face difficulties in accessing medical treatment. Although I cannot provide treatment myself, I try to facilitate the process and help them receive the necessary medical care,” he said.

The minister added that education-related issues, admission expenses, difficulties in accessing government benefits, administrative hurdles and personal disputes also frequently come before him. He said his team coordinates with the concerned departments to help resolve such matters.

According to Singha Roy, hundreds of people sometimes attend his Sunday sessions. He said listening to their concerns, even when they have no specific demands, provides him with satisfaction and reinforces his commitment to public service.

Regarding his political strategy, the minister said preparations for the November elections had already begun and his team would intensify constituency-level outreach after Durga Puja.

“After the elections, I will visit every booth and interact with people there, including those who cannot come to meet me personally,” he said, outlining his plan to expand direct public engagement beyond conventional grievance sessions.
